TDS Combine Girls Best XI: Northern Cali
The second stop of the TDS combine summer tour was in Modesto, California. Some of the top local players were on hand hoping to catch the eye of college scouts as well as talent evaluators from TopDrawerSoccer.
There were plenty of standout performances from the event including some stars from as far away as Washington. Below is the list of the best XI from the girls side of the event.

Here are the girls best XI and other standouts from the event.
TDS Combine: Nor Cal Girls Best XI
GK, Kayla Kelly, N/A, 2017 – Kelly showed great hands during the goalkeeper session and full field games. She is a good shot stopper and has great athleticism.
DF, Madelyn Monson, N/A, 2017 – Monson has a great understanding of the game and stepped well to win possession when she saw the early pass. She is great on the ball too, having a high pass completion ratio out of the back in full field games. She has good athletic attributes as a center back.
DF, Ryan Hernandez, Atletico Santa Rosa, 2017 – Hernandez is great in the air, and has good technical ability. She has great tactical understanding of her position and brought a calming presence to the back line.
MF, Sarah Mirr, Pleasanton Rage, 2018 – Mirr was a stand out during the full field games. She was confident on the ball, technically sound, moved well and executed under pressure. Mirr is the type of midfielder who makes something out of nothing, a real bright spark.
MF, Kayla Grisham, West Coast SC (Nor Cal), 2019 – One of the youngest participants at the combine, Grisham did not show it. She took charge of the middle keeping possession well, communicating and directing. She is a crafty player, with great vision and a good passing range.
MF, Kylie Hanson, Washington Premier, 2018 – Hanson did well as a holding mid during full field games. She is very powerful on the dribble from deep in her own half, as well as possessing the ability to switch the play with long diagonal balls. She also got some powerful shots off, when she crept forward, impressing the coaches from distance.
MF, Isabella Rubio, De Anza Force, 2017 – Rubio has a good soccer IQ, played some good through balls and had great movement off the ball. She is technically good and has a great change of pace. Her overall fitness was impressive, showing her ability to get up and down the line when moved to left back.
MF, Itzel Gonzalez, Atletico Santa Rosa, 2016 – Fast and skillful, Gonzalez has all the attributes to be an exciting midfielder at the next level. She showed great understanding of the game, and kept things simple at the right moments.
MF, Sydney Torrano, West Coast SC (Nor Cal), 2016 – Physical tough and powerful, and technically sound, Torrano impressed all on the day. She was composed on the ball and kept things simple in her link up play.
F, Allison Farr, Slammers, 2017 – Farr is a very exciting player to watch. She is constantly on the move, on and off the ball, finding the space well. She has a great physical presence and speed up top which was hard for defenders to deal with throughout the day.
F, Danielle Wheeler, Mtn View Los Altos SC, 2017 – Wheeler is a fantastic competitor with a nose for goal. She is quick and shifty and used her abilities to get in behind the defense throughout the day.
