TDS Combines: Super Y RSS Region II Boys XI
The best players from throughout Region II of the Super Y League descended upon Fort Wayne, Indiana this August. Here are the best players from the combine and weekend.
Brooks Thompson, Goalkeeper- Thompson is a young goalkeeper with great potential. He is confident on his line and has a great spring in his step. He makes quick decisions and gives his team confidence and organization.
Samiya Bagheri, Defender- Bagheri has great size for his age and uses it very well. He has a clean touch and is very confident on the dribble. He can play anywhere on the pitch and loves to make crafty runs through the midfield to support his offense. Bagheri can be great with the right coaching and mentality over the next few years.
Joseph Simon, Defender- Simon is a versatile player who took up multiple positions along the backline and midfield. He is comfortable on the ball and connects well with his teammates. He showed decent speed and an unselfish nature which really helped to connect play.
Michael Vogt, Defender- Vogt is a player that any coach can trust. He does everything asked of him, and does so with confidence. He keeps possession very well and is strong in the tackle. Vogt showed his versatility by moving from his preferred defensive position to center midfield.
Victor Bronco, Midfielder- Bronco has a very crafty first touch which he used well throughout the weekend. He is confident on the ball and makes good decisions when distributing. Bronco worked well throughout the weekend to provide support and options for his teammates.
Jacob Gramegna, Midfielder- Gramegna is a player with loads of potential. He has the size and soccer IQ to truly make it at the next level. He is strong on the ball and strikes the ball cleanly. Communication and determination will help him as he progresses towards college.
Grayson Timoner, Midfielder- Timoner is an all-around solid midfield player with aspirations to play against the best. He is good with his back to goal and can find a good pass under pressure. Timoner has good ability in the air and a great attacking mentality. Possible DI player in the future.
Micha Cross, Forward- Cross had an incredible all-around weekend. He constantly put the defensive line on their heels and always took a dangerous first touch. Cross is incredibly strong for his size and has unstoppable speed. Cross is an exceptional talent for being so young.
Ian Otter, Forward- Otter can take up a multitude of attacking roles. He led the front line as a point man, played underneath a main striker, and even dropped in to the midfield to support the attack. He is great at keeping possession and playing the simple ball when other options aren’t on. To cap the week, he scored a brilliant free kick goal during a full field game.
Charlie Wend, Forward- Wend is a brave attacker who is always willing to give the extra effort for his team. He showed great bursts of speed throughout the weekend and a good eye for goal. Solid development and effort over the next few years will turn Wend into a great college prospect.
