The Northern California Regional Academy League leaders retain their top spot in this month’s update, also riding the points from The Surf Cup championship. Down the coast in Orange County, West Coast FC has climbed the ladder to a close 2nd, with titles in the Cal South National Cup (State Cup) and Southern Cal Developmental league headlining their resume. The age group shows talent from all over the country with clubs like PDA (New Jersey), Scottsdale SC (Arizona) and Tophat Gold (Georgia) following in close succession.
New Jersey side PDA Arsenal’s undefeated record in April was enough to keep the ECNL Northeast Division winners in the top spot. In-state rivals NJ Crush FC remain closely behind, with Southern California campaigners Arsenal FC a bit farther back in 3rd. Northern Cal’s Mustang SC and Texas side FC Dallas finish out the top 5.
Southern California rivals Legends FC and So Cal Blues remain a strong 1-2 punch in the U15 national rankings, but a team from Cincinnati has climbed to #3 this month Kings Soccer Academy won the U.S. Youth Soccer National League Blue Division, a flight in the CASL Shootout and is leading the Midwest Regional League. West Coast FC (California) and GSA Phoenix (Georgia) close out the Top 5.
Next Week: U13, U14, U15 Boys
TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.
The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.
Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.
A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
