In the end, it took five touches. A backheel. A trap. A threaded pass. A smooth control. And calm finish past a sprawling keeper to round it all off.
The neat move capped off a gutsy comeback for the U15 USMNT against Belgium, one in which they bagged three straight goals to overcome a 2-0 deficit. One where the chances flowed. And one that saw them top group A at the Torneo Delle Nazioni.
Wednesday afternoon’s contest appeared to be one of frustration for the Americans. They created plenty of looks, but Belgium were more opportunistic, taking a 2-0 lead. But a second half comeback, spearheaded by a resurgent and more clinical attack led the US to a 3-2 win.
Here are three takeaways from the final group game of the Torneo Delle Nazioni.
