Top 150 Spotlight: The ACC Strikes Back
With a few notable exceptions, the 2017 IMG Academy Top 150 girls class is more or less packaged and shipped.
We’re still waiting on a few recruiting announcements, namely UCLA’s notice that it’s locked up No. 1 overall 2017 recruit Ashley Sanchez. But for the most part, the 2017 class is done and dusted. Stanford mopped up with, incredibly enough, three of the top five players in the class. Penn State signaled its intent to hold onto its grip in the Big 10 with three in the top 25.
Which means it’s time to flip the page to the 2018s. The time is here.
This week’s Top 150 Spotlight takes us on a journey inside the landscape of the upper echelon of the girls 2018 class. It perhaps doesn’t have the flashy star power of the 2017 group, but it could be even deeper. And we could be witnessing the rebirth of an old power coming back into its own. Without further ado, here are some key talking points as we look toward the next class.
