Top commit uses futsal to sharpen skills
April 20, 2011
Today’s commitment announcements begin with a New Jersey product: Lauren Budzinski.
Budzinski, who is ranked No. 15 in the Region, has given her verbal commitment to Villanova for the 2012 season.
Another interesting detail about Budzinski … she plays futsal - and plays it well, actually. Her Central Jersey Laserz team captured national titles in 2009 and 2010.
The skills have obviously translated well as she thrives on the field with a technical skill that should help enhance the Wildcats down the road.
As for the rest:
Kaelyn Korte (Shattuck St. Mary’s Academy) has verbally committed to Creighton. Korte is the No. 10 ranked player in the Midwest Region.

Oddly enough, Korte started her recruiting process with her heart set on finding a West Coast school, having grown up in sunny San Diego. But a visit to Creighton changed her plans.“Visiting the Creighton campus finalized my decision,” Korte said. “The camaraderie amongst the coaching staff and their dedication to the success of the soccer program really impressed me. I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the Blue Jay family.”
Caroline Survill (Match Fit Academy) has verbally committed to Old Dominion for 2012.
Morgan Michon (Real NJ SC) has verbally committed to St. Joseph's(w) for the 2012 season.
Alex Meyers (Chantilly) has verbally committed to Charlotte for the 2012 season.
Charlotte Ratcliffe (FC Virginia) has verbally committed to Coastal Carolina for the 2012 season.
Mackenzie Hopkins (Oswego Southside) has verbally committed to St. Mary's(w) for the 2012 season.
