Top GK prospect training with San Diego
The growth of the NWSL is paying dividends for some of the top U.S. youth prospects in girls soccer.
Before joining California this fall, goalkeeper Teagan Wy is picking up valuable experience training with new NWSL franchise San Diego Wave FC.
Wy, who plays club soccer for So Cal Blues, makes it down to San Diego for training sessions a couple of times per week.
"Teagan is going to be an integral part of our program, joining a long line of outstanding goalkeepers at Cal," Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach Cori Callahan said in a statement. "Her work ethic can be matched by no one. She is one of the most complete goalkeepers you will see, with an incredibly bright future ahead. There is no stopping her drive for excellence on or off the field."
No. 19 in the 2022 Girls IMG Academy player rankings, Wy has robust U.S. youth national team experience at the U14, U15, U16 and U20 age groups.
