U.S. Under-17 Men’s Youth National Team head coach Gonzalo Segares has called 20 players to Hradec Králové, Czech Republic for the 29th Václav Ježek Cup from Sept. 1-11. The USA will face Switzerland, host Czech Republic and Ukraine in some of its final preparation matches before the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, set for Nov. 10-Dec. 2.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006 are age-eligible for the 2023 U-17 World Cup and Segares selected 16 players born in 2006, three in 2007 and one in 2008: Charlotte FC forward Nimfasha Berchimas.

Thirteen players return from the USA’s successful World Cup qualifying campaign earlier this year and Segares selected players from 11 Major League Soccer clubs, led by three from the San Jose Earthquakes and two each from Charlotte FC, Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy.
