The U.S. Under-16 Men’s Youth National Team will gather for a 23-player training camp at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. from Aug. 18-24. U-15 MYNT head coach Tom Heinneman will lead the training camp.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2007 are age-eligible for this U-16 MYNT cycle. The roster features 21 players born in 2007 and two born in 2008.

This training camp will take place concurrently with the U-17 MYNT camp in Chula Vista and the teams will scrimmage during their time in Southern California. All players called to the U-16 MYNT are also age-eligible for the U-17 MYNT and the upcoming 2023 Concacaf U-17 Championship, set for Feb. 11-26 in Guatemala.
The 2007-birth year player pool most recently competed at the Torneo delle Nazioni this spring in Austria, Italy and Slovenia as the U-15 MYNT. Ten players return from the tournament roster, where the USA won its group and finished fourth overall in the 12-team field. This will be Heinneman’s third training camp with the age group since he was hired as U-15 head coach in Feb. 2022.
Sixteen clubs are represented on the roster, including 14 in Major League Soccer. Four players were selected from LAFC, while Barca Residency Academy midfielder Leonardo Orejarena and Sacramento Republic FC midfielder Blake Willey come from outside MLS academy set-ups.
