The U.S. Under-15 Men’s Youth National Team will hold its final training camp of the year this week at the National Development Center in Kansas City, Kan. Head coach Tom Heinemann has called in 24 players for the event, set for Oct. 23-30.
U.S. U-15 MYNT ROSTER BY POSITION - OCTOBER TRAINING CAMP
GOALKEEPERS (3): Jack Kortkamp (Sporting KC; Olathe, Kan.), Luca Maxim (Orlando City SC; Celebration, Fla.), Aidan Stokes (New York Red Bulls; Totowa, N.J.)
DEFENDERS (7): Andrei Chirila (Philadelphia Union; Allentown, Pa.), Xzavier Colon (Orlando City SC; Deltona, Fla.), Christopher Cupps (Chicago Fire FC; Chicago, Ill.), Pedro Guimaraes (LAFC, Aliso Viejo, Calif.), Zach Molomo (FC Dallas; McKinney, Texas), Juan Villa (Real Salt Lake; Oak Forest, Ill.), Gavin Wolff (Austin FC; Austin, Texas)
MIDFIELDERS (8): Mateo Colmenares (San Jose Earthquakes; Hayward, Calif.), Decarlo Guerra (LAFC; Santa Clarita, Calif.), Liam Lambert (LAFC; Camarillo, Calif.), Kellan LeBlanc (Philadelphia Union; Roysford, PA), Luca Moisa (Real Salt Lake; Las Vegas, Nev.), Cavan Sullivan (Philadelphia Union; Philadelphia, Pa.), Jude Terry (LAFC; San Diego; Calif.), Abner Zuniga (Austin FC; El Cenizo, Texas)
FORWARDS (6): Marius Aiyenero (Unattached; Middleton, Wis.), Gustavo Caraballo Delgado (Orlando City SC; Valencia, Venezuela), Omar Marquez (Real Salt Lake; Woodland, Calif.), Anisse Saidi (Philadelphia Union; Cherry Hill, N.J.), Axel Uriostegui (Real Salt Lake; Las Vegas, Nev.), Abad Vargas (Seattle Sounders; Anchorage, Alaska)
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2008 are age-eligible for this U-15 MYNT cycle. Seventeen of the 24 players called to camp were a part of last month’s U-15 MYNT Talent Identification Camp in Chula Vista, Calif. This group of 2008-birth year players are in early preparations for next year’s Concacaf Boys’ U-15 Championship.
Eleven Major League Soccer clubs are represented on the roster, with four players each coming from LAFC, the Philadelphia Union and Real Salt Lake. The players hail from 10 different states, led by six from California. Forward Abad Vargas, a rare National Team call-up from Alaska, is the younger brother of U-20 MYNT midfielder Obed Vargas. Defender Gavin Wolff is the younger brother of U-20 MYNT forward Tyler Wolff and son of former USMNT forward/current Austin FC head coach Josh Wolff.
The training camp in KC also represents a homecoming for Heinemann, who played college soccer at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. At Rockhurst, he earned Division II All-American honors his sophomore and junior seasons.
