U.S. U14 BNT Accomplishes Goals at Camp
CARSON, California – One week, over 40 players, five games. It’s a daunting task for a coaching staff to try to accomplish much in that time frame but the U.S. U14 Boys National Team staff made it.
“I think the week went really well,” U.S. U14 BNT head coach Brian Johnson told TopDrawerSoccer. “There were a lot of objectives that we wanted to get out of the week with the biggest one being player evaluation. There were a lot quality training sessions and quality games. It was really good. Results were irrelevant in the big picture of things. It was really good to see the new players.”
In terms of playing style, the week was hugely beneficial to the coaches and the players. The group progressed quickly from Wednesday to Friday in picking up the principles in how the coaching staff wanted the group to play. The overall takeaway was this group has quite a bit of depth in the midfield with the trio in all three games making a strong case for their spots on the roster.
There were some other individual performances that stood out over the week from the group.
