U.S. U17 MNT defeats Houston Academy 3-0
Ahinga Selemani netted two goals and Tyler Turner added a tally as the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team defeated the Houston Dynamo U17/18 Academy team 3-0 on Thursday in the soft opening of BBVA Compass Stadium in downtown Houston.
The U.S. broke through in the 32nd minute. Selemani picked up the ball on the right flank and used a combination of speed and force to get past left back Christian Gonzalez. With a step past his defender, Selemani placed the ball past a lunging Fernando Piña. Selemani scored his second of the match in the 49th minute, dribbling past three defenders before hammering the ball past Piña.
The U.S. U17s capped off their scoring in the 49th minute on Turner’s header off of a Cameron Lindley assist to take a 3-0 lead.
