2013 USL W-League Players to Watch
Summer leagues for college players are now underway, with players flocking to the PDL and W-League to stay sharp while at home or spending a few months in new territory.
Find out where some of the stars of women’s college soccer will be spending their summer vacation in the USL’s W-League:
MF Jessie Ayers, Colorado Rapids Women (Colorado College, Junior)
One of the top midfielders in the women’s game, Ayers will ply her trade on the W-League team that is co-branded with the local MLS club. Her solid and steady abilities in the middle of the park will certainly play a big role for the team this summer.
F Janine Beckie, Seattle Sounders Women (Texas Tech, Sophomore)
Beckie joins the Sounders Women after a sensational freshman year that saw the attacker bag 14 goals and 5 assists in 23 starts for the Red Raiders. She’ll continue to hone her game and make strides forward with the W-League side while trying to catch the eye of the U20 Women’s National Team staff, as she was in camp with the team back in April.
