The 2017 NWSL Draft is just under two weeks away, with teams in final preparation mode ahead of the premier offseason event.
The past three top picks overall have been relatively straightforward, with Emily Sonnett (Portland), Morgan Brian (Houston) and Crystal Dunn (Washington) coming first off the board the past three years.
This year’s draft could be similar, with an obvious candidate for the Boston Breakers. However, with a handful of top players considering a move abroad, there could be a late wrinkle involved. Below are seven candidates to go No. 1 in the 2017 NWSL Draft.
