204 Student-Athletes On MAAC Academic

EDISON, NJ - A total of 2,360 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) student-athletes have been named to the 2017-18 Academic Honor Roll. The 2,360 honorees are a conference record. Since 2006-07 the total number of student-athletes named to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll has increased each year.
"On behalf of the MAAC, I'd like to congratulate all the student-athletes named to the 2017-18 Academic Honor Roll. 2,360 student-athletes being honored is a great testament to each institutions' excellence in academics," noted MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor.
To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Academic Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members in the MAAC. All 24 sports that the conference sponsors are represented.
Marist College tallied a league-high 273 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll, followed by Manhattan College with 215, and Iona College with 204. Quinnipiac University totaled 197, Canisius College notched 196, and Monmouth University added 194 honorees. Fairfield University and Rider University each placed 187, while Niagara University had 186 on the Academic Honor Roll. Siena College and Saint Peter's University rounded out the full-time MAAC members with 171 and 99 recipients respectively.
Sacred Heart University, which is a MAAC member in the sports of field hockey and rowing compiled 41 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll to lead all associate members.
