#7 Men’s Soccer Shuts out Mountain Lions 1-0
DENVER, Colo.: Regis men's soccer tack on another win to their record Friday against the UC-Colorado Springs as the Rangers shutout the Mountain Lions out 1-0. The win advances the Ranger's overall record to 6-0-1 and their RMAC record to 4-0-0.
Senior Alex Tarnoczi scored his fourth goal of the season in the 39th minute of the match. The Mountain Lion goalkeeper came out to stop the ball at the 18 yard line. Tarnoczi gained possession, got a clear shot at the goal and sent it through the posts to give the Rangers a lead they would keep for the rest of the match.
The Rangers put seven shots on goal on the day, while allowing UCCS only one shot on goal during the contest. Freshman Christian Nicolosi saved the only shot UCCS sent his way.
"We did well when we played our game, found feet and combined to pass around them," commented senior midfielder Stephen Reed. "We need to keep our focus on us for next week."
The Rangers will play at home again Friday, September 28th at 4:00 PM against the Grizzlies of Adams State College.
