Senior Alex Tarnoczi Named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: Senior forward Alex Tarnoczi earned RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after his performance in the two Ranger victories last week. Regis beat Adams State 5-0 and Colorado Mesa 3-2.
The Rangers now hold an overall record of 8-0-1 and an RMAC record of 6-0-0.
Last weekend, Tarnoczi scored three goals, including one game-winning, and tallied two assists for the Rangers. Tarnoczi only took three shots throughout the weekend, all of which went in for a perfect 1.000 shot on goal percentage.
Earlier, the Rangers earned a #3 ranking in the nation, 1st in the South Central Region. As a team, Regis is ranked first in the nation with a 3.89 scoring offense and 35 goals scored. They are second with 94 total points, seventh with 24 assists and twelfth with a 0.56 shutout percentage.
Regis University is the only DII institution in the country that has top 25 national rankings in men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.
The Rangers will take on Colorado School of Mines on Friday, October 5th at 7:30 PM in Golden, Colo.
