ALEXIS KIEHL GOLDEN GOAL LIFTS #UDWSOC
DAYTON, Ohio – Freshman Alexis Kiehl scored two goals, including the golden goal to give the University of Dayton women's soccer team a 3-2 overtime win over Saint Louis Saturday in front of 1,538 fans at Baujan Field in both team's Atlantic 10 opener.
The Flyers are 5-6-1 overall and 1-0 in the A-10. SLU is 5-6-0 and 0-1 in the league.
The Billikens scored the first goal of the match in the 10th minute off the foot of Kirsten Clemens. Kiehl scored 11 seconds later on the assist from junior Ashley Campbell to tie it.
Livi Logan-Wood scored in the 39th minute to give SLU a 2-1 halftime lead.
With about eight minutes remaining in regulation, sophomore Meghan Blank scored an equalizer goal on a header off the assist from freshman Sidney LeRoy.
Kiehl scored the golden goal in the 92nd minute on a one-timer after a cross into the box by Blank.
Dayton had 30 shots to SLU's 11.
The Flyers will travel to Saint Joseph's (Friday, Oct. 10) and George Mason (Sunday, Oct. 12) next weekend for a pair of Atlantic 10 matches.
