This expanded DU Athletics coverage on Altitude began in 2014-15 with a total of 31 live Altitude broadcasts from the Denver campus, including the 2014 Summit League Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships, the 2015 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships and the 2015 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.
In 2013-14, the initial agreement brokered via Denver Sports Properties, Altitude broadcasted both Pioneer men’s and women’s lacrosse games as a part of a newly established relationship with the Division of Athletics and Recreation. The lacrosse relationship is slated to continue for the 2016 men’s and women’s lacrosse seasons.
Both the University of Denver and Altitude are committed to using the expanded partnership as a way to help the next generation of technical experts in the broadcasting field. In 2013-14, DU leadership committed significant resources to upgrade all of the back-of-the-house technical components to HD quality, which allowed the University to produce and oversee all elements of the broadcasts. As a part of its production crew, the University utilized DU students on many of the key technical broadcast elements to further their understanding of the field. Some of the students have now gone on to work other Altitude events as freelancers for the network.
All eight Denver matches will also be streamed on Pioneer Vision, the website platform home for the Denver Pioneers.
Denver’s Altitude volleyball and postseason soccer schedules will be announced at a later date.
Season tickets for the 2015 Denver men’s and women’s soccer seasons are on sale now, and can be purchased online, here. DU’s women’s program hosts No. 15 Texas Tech in an exhibition on Saturday at 7 p.m. MT. The Denver men host New Mexico in an exhibition on August 22 at 7 p.m. MT.
