Another Ranger Shutout, Move to 2-0 in RMAC
Denver, Colorado: The Regis University Rangers Women’s Soccer team kept a clean sheet in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference posting another shutout, fourth of the year, in Sunday afternoon’s 1-0 win over the Adams State University Grizzlies. The Rangers handed the Grizzlies their fifth loss while moving to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Regis goalkeeper Kat Crump (Huntsville, Alabama) recorded yet another shutout making six saves, five in the second half, to boost her team to victory. Freshman defender Maggie Saras (Boise, Idaho) scored the game-winning unassisted goal in the 56th minute of play. This goal marked Saras’ first goal of the year and as a Ranger.
The Grizzlies edged out the shot advantage 10-7 as well as corner kicks 3-1 but it was RU that found a way to win in this RMAC match. The Rangers take to the Regis Match Pitch on Friday, September 26 at 4:30 p.m. against the Colorado Mines (5-0-1).
