Auburn women add five for 2011

February 4, 2011
AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn soccer program received five signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to cap off another successful recruiting period for head coach Karen Hoppa’s program. Signing papers to join the program in the fall of 2011 were Jessica Clanton (Mililani, Hawaii/Hanalani), Tatiana Coleman (Boca Raton, Fla./West Boca Community), Chelsea Gandy-Cromer (Norcross, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian), Tess Patton (Gainesville, Ga./North Hall) and Morgan Samples (Avondale, Pa./Kennett).

The five-member class comes from four states (Florida, Georgia, Hawaii and Pennsylvania) and focuses completely on the offensive side of the field as all five can play either forward or in the midfield.

“We needed offense with our 2011 class and that's what we got,” Hoppa said. “We signed five very attacking minded players. They all can play either midfield or forward for us and will add tremendous depth to our attack. We are looking forward to them joining our team.”
