Head coach Craig Roberts and the Ball State soccer team have landed nine standouts, including the national junior college player of the year, to join the Cardinals next season.

The incoming group features six high school seniors and two new transfers, plus Chelsy Swackhamer who sat out last season and will join the Cardinals’ active roster in 2015. Here is a look at the class …

New Carlisle, Ohio/Bethel HS/Ohio State

Joined the Cardinals as a transfer prior to the 2014 season. Sat out the 2014 season and will compete for the Cardinals starting in 2015.

Previous College: Saw action in 17 matches as a freshman at Ohio State in 2011 ... tied for third on the team with three goals, all game-winners.

High School: A four-year letterwinner for coach Dru Bescoe at Bethel High School in Ohio ... a three-time all-state selection, including first-team as both a junior and senior ... also an all-district and all-conference pick ... helped Ohio Premier to region and state runner-up finishes in 2010 ... participated in the Ohio Olympic Development Program ... also ran cross country.

High School: Helped Newmarket and coach Laid Law to consecutive undefeated seasons as a junior and senior … won conference championships both years ... two-time team MVP ... played club soccer for Brams United Soccer Club … trained at Just4Keepers in Canada … played internationally in Portugal and the United States for Team Canada … also earned letters in basketball and volleyball at Newmarket ... named volleyball team MVP as a senior ... honor roll student.
