BC Welcomes Six New Faces

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College head women's soccer coach Alison Foley announced the six members of the Class of 2015 this afternoon. The players to join the BC women's soccer program are Gabriella Carreiro from Upton, Mass.; Carly Leipzig, from Allendale, New Jersey; Katie Lund from Texas; Madeline McCracken from Lynch Station, Virginia and Gabby Rouse from Maryland. This class also includes an early admittance recruit in Amber Sterns, who arrived at the Heights in January. Boston College's incoming class is ranked 11th overall by Top Draw Soccer. Here is the class ready to become members of the 2015 BC women's soccer team. Amber Stearns, Forward, San Antonio, Texas - McLean SC Graduated from Johnson High in December of 2014...played midfield and forward for McLean Soccer Club...ranked seventh nationally by Top Drawer Soccer Class of 2015...second ranked forward by Top Drawer Soccer...2013 Under-18's National team camp in April...trained with the Under-18 US National team in 2012 and Under-19's at the FIFA KUBAN, Russia Tournament in 2013...participant in the 2012 PUMA Elite Prospect Showcase...originally from Virginia, Stearns family moved to Texas in 2011. Attends Nipmuc Regional...2014-15 Gatorade State Player of the Year...scored 16 goals in the regular season and then 14 more in the Mass. State Tournament...helped Nipmuc (22-1-1) win the Central Mass Division 3 title...she had two goals in Nipmuc's state title victory over Lynnfield, 5-0...Dual Valley Conference Player of the Year, Central Mass and All-State honors and Metrowest Dailey News Super Team selection...finished her career with 52 goals and 42 assists...plays for the Stars Of Massachusetts...can play midfield and forward...2012, 2013, 2014 All-State selection...US National Team camps as an Under-14, Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17...a member of the U-17's in 2013 through June, July and then again in Sept. and October...with the Under-20's US women's national team in September and October of 2014 Katie Lund, Goalkeeper, Dallas, Texas - Sting Dallas Plays at Ursuline Academy of Dallas...2012-13 TAPPS All-District Div. 1 first team...2012-13 TAPPS All-State Div. 1 second team...2012 & 2013 State Championship Texas Association of Private Schools...helped Ursuline to the TAPPS Division I state championship...2014 NSCAA All-Region selection...Plays for the Dallas Sting which placed third at the ECNL Nationals in 2013...Elite Club National League in 2012 and 2013...2008-13 North Texas Player pool. Played at Altavista Combined High School...in Altavista's first season as a varsity team, McCracken scored 29 goals with six assists to pace the Colonels to a Dogwood District championship and 14-4-1 overall record as a freshman...named District Player f the Year, All-Region B first team... Played for McLean SC...2014 US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional All-Star Team...2014 ODP Thanksgiving Interregional Best XI...2013 ODP Thanksgiving Interregional Camp...2013 Region 1 ODP...2013 Under-17 Women's National Team player pool...2012 ODP Thanksgiving Interregional Best XI...Now plays for the Richmond United.
