Winston-Salem, N.C. | Spry Stadium
The Basics
Saint Louis sophomore Anthony Brown scored in the 14th minute and junior goalkeeper Sascha Otte recorded a career-high 11 saves as the Billikens shut out fifth-ranked Wake Forest 1-0 Friday in the season opener.
Otte, who recorded his 20th career shutout, assisted on Brown’s goal. Brown pounced on a bouncing ball from Otte near the top of box and rifled a shot that snuck just underneath the crossbar for the only goal of the game.
It was Brown’s third career goal and first game-winner. Otte’s 11 saves better his previous career high of eight, which occurred during his freshman season at Creighton.
Scoring Summary
Anthony Brown (Sascha Otte), 13:27
