Boston College took the lead behind sophomore Hayley Dowd's goal in the 35 minute. Dowd headed in a corner kick from junior Lauren Bernard. Dowd now has three goals on the season but this was her first game-winning goal. It was Bernard's second assist of the season.
At the half, Boston College held a 5-to-3 edge in shots taken in the first half. BC had the one corner kick which led to the lone goal in the game, while Northeastern had zero.
In the second half, the Huskies offense sputtered at the start as the Eagles defenders - Allyson Swaby, Coco Woeltz and Meg MacDonald - kept the Eagles lead intact.
In the 56th minute the Huskies offense started to pressure the Eagles defense. One of the best chances came on the Huskies first corner kick. The first shot off the corner, was deflected out of the goal mouth by BC junior Coco Woeltz, who was holding tight on the far post. Woeltz positioning preserved the Eagles one goal lead.
