Bryant men announce spring schedule
March 27, 2012
The Bryant University men's soccer team will host six home matches in the month of April as a tune-up to the 2012 season, the first year that Bryant will be fully eligible for postseason competition.
The six-game schedule – all of which will be played in Smithfield – will feature five bouts with former Northeast-10 (DII) conference rivals. The Bulldogs will welcome UMass Lowell, American International, Assumption, St. Anselm and Franklin Pierce to campus over the span of a month, and also will play host to one of the top competitors from the America East conference in Boston University.
The Bulldogs will first see action on April 4 against the River Hawks before hosting a double header against both AIC and Assumption on April 11. All three of those matches will be played at the Bryant Track and Turf Complex.
Next up, St. Anselm comes to town for an afternoon battle on April 14 at Sutton Field. Eight days later, the Bulldogs will take on the BU Terriers – also at Sutton Field – on April 22. Bryant wraps up the spring slate three days later against Franklin Pierce on April 25 back at the Track and Turf Complex. The Ravens are coming off a historic 2011 season when they advanced to the national semifinal before falling, 1-0, to national runner-up Lynn University. Franklin Pierce finished the season 21-1-1.
