Buccaneers Shut Out At Home
MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University men’s soccer team suffered a tough loss Saturday versus Sunshine State Conference foe Rollins, 5-0.
Barry (3-7-0, 0-5-0 SSC) got off to a strong start, dictating the pace of the game in the early beginnings and nearly capitalized on a pair of opportunities.
Kris Wilkinson ripped a shot that missed just wide to the right in the fifth minute mark and once again in the 11 minute, Kendall Sealy nearly put one home as his attempt slid just left of the goal.
Both teams countered throughout the first half, but the Tars jumped ahead on Brett Durrance’s first goal of the season in the 43rd minute, and Rollins would carry the momentum into the intermission.
Unfortunately for the Buccaneers, the equalizer would not come in the early portions of the second half and the Tars took advantage of several scoring opportunities, putting the game out of reach in route to a 5-0 victory.
The Tars (6-3-2, 2-2-1 SSC) finished with a one shot advantage over Barry but they certainly made all of their chances count.
Barry returns to action on Tuesday, and they’ll look to end a recent two-game skid when they host the Lions of Saint Leo University.
