MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry women’s soccer weathered a storm and the St. Thomas Bobcats for a 1-0 overtime win in their home opener on Monday night at Buccaneer Field.

Katie Lamendola knocked in the game-winner for her first career goal in the 99th minute after a corner by Sara Karna.

The Bobcats (0-2-0) had the best scoring chance of regulation. After a free kick, the ball bounced loose in the Buccaneer box and Sara Mira ripped a shot from point blank range, but Becca Rogers was there for the save.

The Bucs out-shot the Bobcats 14-10, including 8-3 on goal, and led 8-2 in corners.

Rogers posted her second straight shutout for the Bucs (2-1-0), making three saves. Victoria Shahbaz made seven saves for the Bobcats, who lost their second straight in overtime.
