Campbell scores first career goal in LU loss

<p><strong>LARAMIE, Wyo.</strong> &ndash; Freshman <strong><a href="http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/campbell_megan00.html">Megan Campbell</a></strong> scored her first career goal, but the Lamar Lady Cardinals dropped a 3-1 decision at Wyoming in a non-conference women&rsquo;s soccer game Sunday.</p> <p>Campbell scored on a breakaway at the 11:59 mark of the first half to pull the Lady Cardinals (0-2) into a 1-1 tie with Wyoming (1-1), but Sara Paul scored the first of her two goals a little more than eight minutes later to give the Cowgirls the lead for good.</p> <p>Liz O&rsquo;Reilly also scored for Wyoming.</p> <p><strong><a href="http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/silas_elizabeth00.html">Elizabeth Silas</a></strong> took the loss for Lamar, allowing two goals and making two saves in the first half. <strong><a href="http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/fontenot_bailey00.html">Bailey Fontenot</a></strong> made two saves while allowing one goal in the second half.</p> <p>"All of their goals came off our mistakes. We are creating problems for ourselves," Lamar coach <strong><a href="http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/cervantes_orlando00.html">Orlando Cervantes</a></strong> said. "We'll work on things in practice and hopefully have those corrections made before our next game."</p> <p>Lamar returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday with a non-conference game at Southern.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde; font-size: large;">#LUsoccer</span></p>
