Less than a minute later, freshman Laura Potter (Gilboa, N.Y./Gilboa-Conesville) tallied the first of her two assists on the day when she sent a cross from the right side into the box that Veverka headed home. In the 33rd minute, Veverka crossed the ball from the left side into the box for freshman Becky Camp (Belford, N.J./Middletown North), who scored her first career goal. The Cyclones went into halftime leading, 3-0.
The two teams traded goals in the second half. Senior Brittany Overland (Andover, N.J./Newton) staked Centenary to a 4-0 lead in the 72nd minute on an assist from Potter. The Rangers ended the Cyclones’ shutout bid in the 74th minute. After Kiana Lundy’s shot went off the crossbar, Katie O’Keefe pounced on it and sent it past Hackelberg to put Drew on the scoreboard. However, CC was able to hold on and win, 4-1.
