The NWSL Challenge Cup kicks off this weekend, as the month-long tournament is slated to replace the 2020 regular season (barring a significant, miraculous nation-wide improvement in the spread of the coronavirus).
It’s an opportunity for some of the best players from the 2019 college soccer season to get their first taste of professional game time, even if it’s far from the norm.
