February 4, 2011
CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati head men’s soccer coach Hylton Dayes announced a six-member recruiting class today (Feb. 3). The six student-athletes will join the Bearcats for the 2011 season.
Emmanuel Appiah (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central), Chris Davis (Gahanna, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln), Cole DeNormandie (Lincoln, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional), Will Diebold (Coppell, Texas/Jesuit College Prep), and Matt Remaley (Highlands, Colo./Mountain Vista) have signed National Letters of Intent. Taylor Hafling (Louisville, Ky./New Mexico) transferred from New Mexico, where he redshirted his freshman campaign. He is currently enrolled in classes at UC. The class features two Ohio standouts, a two-time NSCAA all-American, and five all-state honorees.
The Bearcats finished the 2010 season with a 7-5-7 overall mark and a trip to the BIG EAST semifinals. The 2011 Bearcats return leading scorer and second-team all-BIG EAST selection Matt Bahner (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) along with three-fourths of the starting backline that held opponents to a 0.68 goals against average in 2010.
