Clayton State ranked 15th in new NSCAA Division II Top 25 men’s soccer poll
MORROW, Ga. – September 20, 2011 – The Clayton State Laker men’s soccer team is ranked 15th in the new NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America) Top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday. That is a drop eight spots from last week’s ranking of seventh in the nation for the Lakers.
Clayton State is currently 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the Peach Belt Conference after dropping its Peach Belt Conference opener on Saturday in a tough 1-0 defeat at rival Lander. The Lakers have now been nationally-ranked in 15 straight NSCAA Division II Top 25 polls.
Clayton State is one of three teams from the Peach Belt Conference ranked this week. Lander went from unranked to ranked ninth with its victory over the Lakers, while Flagler returned to the poll at No. 23. The top two ranked teams remained the same with Northern Kentucky holding the top spot, followed by Rollins.
The Lakers return to action on Wednesday with a 5 p.m. non-conference tilt at in-state rival Young Harris.
