Cowgirls at Northern Colorado on Friday
The University of Wyoming women’s soccer team finishes its road series at Northern Colorado on Friday at 7p.m. in Greeley, Colo. The Cowgirls finished last weekend with a win and loss at South Dakota and Morehead State, respectively. Freshman forward Alisha Bass and sophomore forward Laurel Ramer scored their first goals of the season in the USD victory. Senior forward Kasey Curtis posted UW’s lone score versus the Eagles and leads the Cowgirls with three on season.
“Last weekend I thought we had good energy in both games and it was great to see our effort pay with for a win,” UW head coach Pete Cuadrado said. “It will be a tough game against Northern Colorado but we just need to stick to our game plan and follow it through.”
Last time vs. Northern Colorado – The Cowgirls last met the Bears on Sept. 18, 2013, at the Louis S. Madrid Sport Complex and fell 1-0. Wyoming leads the Bears in the overall series 8-3-1.
The Bears’ last contest was a 4-1 win over Nebraska-Omaha last Sunday. The Bears’ first goal came at the 20-minute mark off an assist. Nebraska-Omaha responded with a goal off a through ball in the 48th minute. In the 62nd minute the Bears broke the tie with a corner kick and added another score just five minutes later.
