Head coach Ross Paule introduced his first class of women's soccer recruits, Emma Braasch, Kaira Houser, Maureen Kerr, Rianna Lockhart and Olivia Witherspoon on Thursday, Feb. 12.

A 5-7 forward from Prairie Village, Kan., Braasch was one of the leading scorers for Shawnee Mission East high school. Also a basketball player for the Lancers, Braasch played club soccer for Sporting Blue Valley.

Houser, who also played her club soccer for Sporting Blue Valley, is a forward from Washburn Rural high school in Wakarusa, Kan. Houser closed the 2014 season by earning All-State First Team recognition from the Kansas Soccer Coaches Association.

A midfielder from Evanston, Ill., Kerr was an All-Central Suburban League (CSL) selection following the 2013 as well as the 2014 season. Standing 5-8, Kerr played club soccer for FC United and was also a part of the Evanston basketball team.

Lockhart is a defender from Colorado Springs, Colo., who plays club soccer for Pride Soccer. A center back in high school, Lockhart has been a member of the Doherty high school varsity squad since she was a freshman. A two-time Colorado Springs Metro League All-Conference selection, Lockhart earned a spot on the Second Team as a junior in 2014.

Standing just 5-4, Witherspoon comes to Creighton from Bellevue, Wash. A defender, Witherspoon is a natural lefty that plays for Issaquah high school. Witherspoon was a part of three state championship teams, including one this fall.

"I am excited to get to know each one of our new recruits and not only help them achieve their ambitions, but push them to their individual potential," said Paule. "We have high expectations for every player who joins our program. We'll treat the freshman the same as our seniors, with respect."

"With our current team and our incoming 2015 class, I am confident we will take our program to a higher level each year and have fun doing it," added Paule.
