CSUB and Fresno Pacific Play To 0-0 Tie
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSU Bakersfield and Fresno Pacific played to a 0-0 tie Tuesday night at CSUB's Main Soccer Field.
The Roadrunners outshot the Sunbirds 22-6, 13-1 on goal. CSUB held a 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. The more athletic Roadrunners were able to use their speed against Fresno Pacific, but the Sunbirds used a defensive trap that forced 14 CSUB offsides' calls.
Redshirt freshman Tori Ornela (Lemoore, Calif. Lemoore HS) made one save as she charted her first career shutout.
"We gave an effort deserving of a win, but no wins are deserved." said CSUB head coach Melissa Phillips. "We have to take every opportunity personally and grind it out to get a result."
The Roadrunners return to the pitch Friday night when CSUB hosts Idaho State at 7 p.m.
