Cyclones Suffer First Home Defeat
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary College men's soccer team's home unbeaten streak came to an end at seven matches as the Cyclones dropped a 3-0 decision to Eastern Saturday afternoon at Morrison Field.
Centenary (3-2-2) had earned two victories and a draw at home this season following a four-match unbeaten streak to end last year prior to Saturday's setback.
The Eagles (6-1) netted the game's first goal in the 39th minute as Brandon Reichart scored off a set play following a free kick.
Eastern added a pair of insurance tallies during the second half, one each from Josh Cirocco and Zach Johnson.
Senior goalkeeper Edward Medow (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) made three saves during his first appearance of the season. Medow played 64 minutes in relief of sophomore net minder Jesse Goleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice), who stopped one shot.
Eastern held a 7-1 edge in shots on goal and attempted four of the match's six corner kicks. Senior Nick Telle (Union, N.J./Roselle Catholic) recorded the lone shot on goal for the Cyclones.
Centenary looks to bounce back on Wednesday when it faces FDU-Florham at Morrison Field (4:00 pm).
