Cyclones Use Penalty Kicks To Top Cairn
LANGHORNE, Pa. – Junior Quinn Khouri (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) scored a pair of goals on penalty kicks as Centenary College ended a four-game losing skid with a 2-1 Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer victory over Cairn on Saturday.
Khouri was taken down in the box during the sixth minute and smashed a penalty kick past Highlander goalie Dave Shaffer to give the Cyclones a 1-0 lead.
Cody Mosely knotted the game at 1-1 with just 15 minutes to play in regulation, but just 81 seconds later,Jesse Goleman Khouri earned his second penalty kick and found that back of the net again as Centenary regained the lead.
Khouri now has three goals via penalty kicks in the Cyclones' last two games. He recorded three of Centenary's eight shots on goal, while sophomore goalkeeper Jesse Goleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) stopped six shots in net. Shaffer also made six saves for Cairn.
Centenary travels to Immaculata for a 7:00 pm match on Wednesday.
