Davies named NU's Director of Operations
BOSTON – Northeastern men's soccer head coach Brian Ainscough announced the hiring of Justin Davies as the program's Director of Operations on Tuesday. Davies will be responsible for all aspects of the Husky program, including team video and travel.
"I am excited to come back to my hometown of Boston," said Davies. "I am also humbled to have the opportunity to develop under a stellar coaching staff and a successful soccer program."
Davies graduated from San Diego State University in 2013 with a degree in political science. As a member of the men's soccer team, Davies was named an Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selection in both 2009 and 2010, as well as a 2010 Courtyard Marriott San Diego Central All-Tournament Team honoree. He appeared in 71 matches during his career, including 59 starts, totaling four goals and three assists as part of the Aztecs' back line.
Following his career at San Diego State, Davies was the 76th overall selection in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft by the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Davies is no stranger to the Boston area, having played at the Brooks School (North Andover, Mass.) prior to joining the Aztecs. Davies was a 2006-07 Boston Globe New England All-Star and earned first team All-ISL honors while at Brooks.
Following exhibition contests at Boston College (Aug. 18) and against New Hampshire (Aug. 24), the Huskies will open the 2013 regular season at the Duke Nike Invitational against future CAA foe Elon on Aug. 30 at 5 p.m.
