DAYTON EARNS 2-1 VICTORY AT HIGH POINT
HIGH POINT, N.C. – The University of Dayton men’s soccer team traveled to North Carolina on Thursday and left with a 2-1 victory over High Point, overcoming tough weather conditions.
After a one hour and 30 minute lightning delay, the game was finally able to get underway in North Carolina. Despite the delay, the Flyers scored a goal in each half to take a 2-1 win from the hosts.
KEY STATS
Dayton out-shot High Point 19-17 in the match. The Flyers also put 13 on target in the contest, compared to the Panther’s eight attempts on goal.
The Flyers benefited from 10 corners versus High Point’s five.
Sophomore Oliver Hansen made his first career start and recorded seven saves on 17 shots faced.

30th Minute – Senior Amass Amankona (2nd Goal of season) converts the penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1. (Dayton 1, High Point 1)
75th Minute – Junior James Haupt (2nd Goal of season) made a run in the box and received a nice pass from senior Michael Frasca and curled the shot out of the reach of the goalkeeper to put Dayton ahead. (Dayton 2, High Point 1)
HIGH POINT GOALS
29th Minute – Sophomore Avery Ryan (1st Goal of season) collects the pass from Renato Punyed in the box and drives the shot the low for the opening goal. (Dayton 0, High Point 1)
