Dayton women announce recruits for 2011
February 4, 2011
DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton women’s soccer coach Mike Tucker announced the Flyers’ 2011 recruiting class Friday.
Haley Keller (Noblesville, Ind.), Allison Klinefelter (Mt. Lebanon, Penn.), Amanda Sivic (Broadview Heights, Ohio), Kelsey Smigel (North Royalton, Ohio) and Sara Vaughan (Upper Arlington, Ohio) all signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their playing careers at Dayton.
“Our first priority in this class was goal scorers, and we think we have a couple of great ones. Beyond that, what we’re trying to do is to find people that can make us better and who fit into the way that we’re trying to do things,” said Tucker. “Overall we think this is going to be a really special class. I think we have our goal scorers and we have our other special players, so we’re really happy about that. They’re all really good students and really competitive, and I think their character and the quality of people that they are is what we’re looking for.”
The Flyers finished their 2010 season posting a record of 19-3-1 overall and an Atlantic 10 record of 8-1-0. UD shared the A-10 regular season title and won its second A-10 tournament title in as many years. The Flyers earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament where they advanced to the Second Round.
