DAYTON WOMEN'S SOCCER DOWNS DUQUESNE 5-2
DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (9-9-0, 7-2-0 A-10) defeated Duquesne (9-9-0, 4-5-0 A-10) by a score of 5-2 Thursday night at Baujan Field. Senior Ashley Campbell led the Flyers with two goals and an assist to help UD retain third place in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings.
STATS OF THE MATCH
• Dayton outshot Duquesne 35-14, including 17-3 in the first half. It marks the second consecutive match UD has taken at least 35 shots (the Flyers took 36 shots in their 6-1 win over St. Bonaventure Oct. 25).
• Four different Flyers scored in the match: Alexis Kiehl, Ashley Campbell (twice), Nicole Waters and Meghan Blank.
DAYTON GOALS
• 14th minute – Alexis Kiehl, for the second consecutive match, got the Flyers on the board first. After Kathleen Golterman's shot was deflected, Erin O'Malley flicked it over to Kiehl who put it away. (Dayton 1, Duquesne 0)
• 31st minute – Campbell scored her 14th goal of the season on a follow off of a Beth Kamphaus shot that went off the cross bar. (Dayton 2, Duquesne 0)
• 63rd minute – Campbell scored the game-winning goal after a cross from Waters to the far side. Campbell one-time the first ball which hit off the keeper and she followed to put the ball into the back of the net. (Dayton 3, Duquesne 2)
• 73rd minute – Alexis Kiehl earned a free kick at the 18-yard line. Campbell squared passed it to Waters who took a decisive strike to the lower corner. (Dayton 4, Duquesne 2)
• 73rd minute –Kamphaus crossed the ball into Kiehl whose shot went off the post and Meghan Blank scored on the rebound. (Dayton 5, Duquesne 2)
DUQUESNE GOALS
• 55th minute – Abby Losco scored on a rebound after a header was deflected by Kaelyn Johns but a pass set up Losco open in the middle at the six-yard line. (Dayton 2, Duquesne 1)
• 22nd minute – Katie O'Connor had a wonderful individual effort after stealing a ball at midfield, dribbled to the 18-yard line and ripped a shot far post to equalize the match. (Dayton 2, Duquesne 2)

• The Flyers close out the regular season at Massachusetts this Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
