Dayton women's soccer signs five for 2015
University of Dayton women's soccer coach Mike Tucker and his staff announced the Flyers' 2015 recruiting class today.
Keagin Collie (Fonthill, Ontario, Canada), Kaelyn Johns (Downingtown, Pa.), Nadia Pestell (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada), Sara Robertson (Cincinnati, Ohio), and Mia Tompkins (Bozeman, Mont.), all committed to Dayton and signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday.
"Excitement, anticipation, pride – that is our feeling about our incoming 2015 Dayton Flyer class. Adding a group with the abilities of these players to our already talented returners is an exciting thought. They add to our strength from front to back and we expect several of these talented young women to compete for significant playing time immediately," said Tucker. "We are already anticipating their arrival on campus in the fall and the chance for them to integrate into the team and to prepare for our challenging schedule. And we are very proud of them – not only their soccer skills, but their academic prowess and the quality people that these young women are. I am very grateful for the efforts of our staff in identifying this newest group of Dayton Flyers and making them aware of the opportunities they will have here at UD. As we say here, "It's A Great Day To Be A Flyer"!"
The University of Dayton Women's Soccer team finished with a record of 12-9-2 on the year. The Flyers won their ninth Atlantic 10 Tournament championship this year. UD also made its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance.
