<p><strong>LONG BEACH, Calif. &ndash;</strong>&nbsp;Lipscomb sophomore defender, Omar Djabi, was chosen by<em>TopDrawerSoccer.com</em>&nbsp;as a preseason top 20 player to watch in the Atlantic Sun Conference this season.</p> <p>The Franklin, Tenn. native was selected to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman team last season after starting in 18 games that he appeared in, leading the Bisons in minutes played. Djabi was also named to the All-Tournament team at the Belmont Mafiaoszo tournament.</p> <p>Djabi honed his skills this past summer playing for the Rocket City United of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). He hopes that this experience will help him play the best to help out the team leading to victories.</p> <p>As a defender, personal stats get thrown out the window, being the last line of defense is what gets Djabi excited.</p> <p>&ldquo;We try to get shutouts and not let other teams score,&rdquo; Djabi said. &ldquo;When recovering the ball you just look for the open person and maybe you get the assist.&rdquo;</p> <p>The Bisons open regular season play with a game at Evansville on Friday, Aug. 24, before returning home on Sunday, Aug. 26 with a tilt against Eastern Illinois.</p>
