Early goals lead Heidelberg past Mount Union
TIFFIN—Heidelberg men's soccer trumped the Mount Union Purple Raiders 3-0 on Saturday, October 18. The Student Princes scored all three goals within the first 20 minutes of the match, cruising the rest of the way for the OAC victory.
1st Half
In the first minute of the contest, Kyle Boone found the back of the net off of a free kick for his first goal of the season. Following six minutes of high powered offense,Greg Raimondo broke through the Raiders defense and found the net for his first goal of the season. The play was assisted by Tyler Eoff, who would find the back of the net himself just seven minutes later. A free kick from the Berg was broken up in the box by a few Raider defenders until Eoff footed the ball past Mount Union's (7-7, 1-4 OAC) goal keeper.
2nd Half
Both the Student Princes and the Purple Raiders had attempts to score, but goalkeepers Matthew Stevens and Dylan Lias kept the ball out of their nets. Berg out-shot Mount six to three in the second half.
