Five games to watch this men’s season
The flying tortillas won’t fall from the sky, the athletic department won’t be looking for extra security when the big rival comes to town, and the joy of an overtime winner as the announcer counts down the final seconds of the game won’t be quite the same. There is still going to be a men’s college soccer season this spring, but it is certainly going to look considerably different, like much of the sports world has for the past 18 months.
There is a limited out-of-conference schedule across all of Division I, which takes away from of the drama from comparing the conferences during the grind of the season. It does offer us the opportunity to watch more rivalry games, and for teams to avoid crowding the schedule with too many games in a week.
Even with all the obstacles in the way, there is still plenty to look forward to this college season including five games that I have circled on my calendar.
