Conference play is starting to pick up the pace around the country. Here are five things to know from the past week of action in women’s DI soccer.
1. Statement win for Duke in rivalry
One result doesn’t define a season, but Duke solidified what they had shown for much of the season: they are in it to win it. A 1-0 road win against North Carolina is the perfect start to conference play, as Tess Boade found a way and Duke dug in for the win. The Tar Heels did outshoot the Blue Devils by a 15-9 mark on the night, though were unable to find a way past goalkeeper Ruthie Jones.
