Another week of critical conference clashes continues to bring the women’s college soccer picture into focus.

1. Penn State pulls itself back into the race
A season of high expectations for Penn State wavered for a few days after a loss at home against Minnesota and a draw on the road against Nebraska. But back-to-back wins over Iowa and Northwestern away from home, coupled with a Golden Gophers loss to Wisconsin last week, have the Nittany Lions back on track. The offense has come to life the last two games, scoring eight times, while the defense has shackled the opposition.
