FLYERS ADVANCE TO FOURTH CONSECUTIVE A-10 FINAL
DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton toppled Richmond 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer semifinal Friday night at Baujan Field.
UD advances to take on No. 4 seed Massachusetts, who upset previously unbeaten No. 1 seed La Salle, 1-0 in the first semifinal. The final game will be Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. ET at Baujan Field.
It marks the fourth consecutive season the Flyers have advanced to the final. Dayton is the two-time defending Atlantic 10 Tournament Champions.
The Flyers, the No. 3 seed, outshot the No. 2 seed Spiders 21-12. Dayton improves to 18-3-0 while the Spiders drop to 13-5-3.
Sophomore Juliana Libertin scored the game-winning goal in the 34th minute on an assist from junior Alysha Mallon. Junior Alexis Garcia scored early in the second half in the 51st minute on an assist by junior Colleen Williams.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jordin Melchert posted her second consecutive shutout of the tournament and improved to 8-0 on the season.
