BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a tremendous regular season, four members of the Lehigh women's soccer team have been recognized with All-Patriot League honors. Juniors Alyssa Riporti and Adrian Vitello were named to the first team while senior Tori Pantaleo and freshman Sam Miller garnered second team laurels. All four garnered their first All-League recognition of their careers.
A center back, Riporti has helped spearhead a Lehigh defense which began the season with eight straight shutouts and held opponents scoreless for a stretch of 832:31 dating back to the end of the 2015 season. The Mountain Hawks own 12 shutouts on the year and have allowed just 11 goals in 17 games this season (0.65 average). The team's shutout percentage of .706 is currently fourth in the nation. Riporti has played every minute for the Mountain Hawks this season. Overall, the defense has allowed just 4.5 shots on goal per game. She has also contributed to the offense, owning a goal and assist this season, scoring a goal at Colgate while assisting on the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Army West Point.
Vitello has been a mainstay in the midfield for the Mountain Hawks. She is currently tied for fifth on the team with five points behind two goals and one assist. Vitello had a goal and assist against Marist, which helped her earn Patriot League Midfielder of the Week. She also scored the game's first goal in a 2-0 win at Big East foe Villanova. Vitello's impact has gone far beyond statistics as she's helped lead Lehigh's defensive efforts as well. She's on the field nearly the entire game, averaging 79.5 minutes per contest.
Enjoying a breakout senior season, Pantaleo leads the Mountain Hawks and is tied for fifth in the league in both goals (7) and points (17). She played her best soccer down the stretch, recording a point in each of the last three regular season contests. Pantaleo scored ninth-minute goals in wins at Lafayette and Bucknell while assisting the game's only goal against American Friday to help the Mountain Hawks clinch a home game in the Patriot League Quarterfinals. Pantaleo was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions, following three goals over a pair of wins against Marist and Mount St. Mary's, then two goals and one assist over victories at Lafayette and Bucknell. Pantaleo was also named to the TopDrawer Soccer National Team of the Week following her effort against the Leopards and Bison.
